Marie Thumas, dat is Belgische geschiedenis. Het begon allemaal met groenteconserven. Vandaag werpen we er een andere blik op: deze van de vriesverse groenten.

Een iconisch merk<\/span><\/h2>\n

Deze eerste Belgische conservenfabriek werd opgericht in 1886 door de Doornikse ingenieur Edmond Thumas. De fabriek was gevestigd aan de Leuvense Vaart in Wilsele. Hij noemde zijn bedrijf “Marie Thumas”, naar de naam van zijn vrouw, Marie Durieux. Aanvankelijk werkten er slechts een twintigtal mensen, maar v\u00f3\u00f3r de Tweede Wereldoorlog werkten er in de zomer al 600 vrouwen en 300 mannen. Na de verwerking van groenten, werden ook fruit en soep in blik verwerkt.<\/p>\n

Kwaliteit primeert<\/h5>\n

In de beginjaren was alles handmatig, maar rond de jaren 30 investeerde Marie Thumas in automatisering. De verwerking van groenten bleef gedeeltelijk handmatig, maar multifunctionele machines maakten ook hun intrede. Kwaliteit bleef altijd de hoogste prioriteit, en alleen blikken van topkwaliteit verlieten de fabriek.<\/p>\n

Opmerkelijk was ook de vooruitstrevendheid van Marie Thumas, zelfs in die tijd. Naast investeringen in machines en automatisering, werd er ook gedacht aan het welzijn van het personeel. Een sociaal huis met voorzieningen zoals douches, kleedkamers en een refter getuigde van een vooruitstrevende aanpak.<\/p>\n

Onze groenten komen vers van het veld. Na de oogst reizen ze in minder dan 4 uur naar de diepvriezer. Het verhaal van Marie ThumasMarie Thumas, dat is Belgische geschiedenis. Het begon allemaal met groenteconserven. Vandaag werpen we er een andere blik op: deze van de vriesverse groenten.Even lekker, nog m\u00e9\u00e9r verbazend.Een iconisch merkDeze eerste Belgische conservenfabriek werd opgericht in 1886 door de Doornikse ingenieur Edmond Thumas. De fabriek was gevestigd aan de Leuvense Vaart in Wilsele. Hij noemde zijn bedrijf “Marie Thumas”, naar de naam van zijn vrouw, Marie Durieux. Aanvankelijk werkten er slechts een twintigtal mensen, maar v\u00f3\u00f3r de Tweede Wereldoorlog werkten er in de zomer al 600 vrouwen en 300 mannen. Na de verwerking van groenten, werden ook fruit en soep in blik verwerkt.Kwaliteit primeertIn de beginjaren was alles handmatig, maar rond de jaren 30 investeerde Marie Thumas in automatisering. De verwerking van groenten bleef gedeeltelijk handmatig, maar multifunctionele machines maakten ook hun intrede. Kwaliteit bleef altijd de hoogste prioriteit, en alleen blikken van topkwaliteit verlieten de fabriek.Marie Thumas is er voor iedereenOpmerkelijk was ook de vooruitstrevendheid van Marie Thumas, zelfs in die tijd.
